Fashion Week favourite and veteran Canadian designer David Dixon presented his latest collection to a full house last night at LG Fashion Week. The collection which drew heavily from an Eastern theme(Hanging Gardens of Babylon) unfolded like a classic love story. DD didn’t stray far from trend projections; lots of Yellows/Mustard, Blues and Black and White combinations. As far as silhouettes, there was lots of architecture; more fabric manipulation like we saw last year, shapeless and shapely(poof) pieces and a lesson in Geometry with Circles 101.
David’s collections are consistantly wearable (thats why we love him) and there truely was something for every woman. Here are some pieces that I LOVE.

I’ve been to Fashion Week on many occasions but this time will be very different; for the first time I won’t be going as a Model but as Media. I’m really excited, mostly because I will get to see it unfold the way the rest of the world does. When the lights go up or down I’ll be watching, seeing most of the collections and choreography for the first time.

Its sure to be a fantastic week for Canadian Fashion and Fashion in general. I’ll be covering this year’s festivities (both on and off site) for this blog and a few other affiliates. I went to pick up my pass today and preparations are well underway, the new venue looks amazing as they work to get the final touches in place. The staff look ready to take on the week ahead and all of King West is a buzz in anticipation. LG Fashion week runs October 19 through the 24th, “wear love”. See You there!
